Break Free Alliance RepositoryOverview Research Resources Directory
Research
Our research database includes articles focusing on tobacco control and a specific population and/or topic involving low socioeconomic status populations. These articles have been compiled from peer-reviewed journal, and the date of publication ranges from the year 2000 to present time.*
Please visit our Overview section for instructions on suggesting additional articles to include in our research database.
User Guide: Click on "Search" below in order to perform a search in any of the columns. To return to the original view, refresh the page.
You can search for particular topics by specifying search terms under the column "topic." Here are some of the terms currently being used: affordable/public housing, cessation, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, incarceration, low SES, Medicaid, mental illness, pregnancy, quitlines, rural, substance abuse, veterans, (low SES) youth and (low SES) young adults.
Dates are listed with the year and then the month (e.g. March 2009 would be listed as 2009-03) in order to make it easier to sort articles by date. To sort by date, click on "Date," choose "Sort" and "Desc" to view the newest articles.
Some of these articles are available online free of charge. If not, you can try accessing articles through Interlibrary Loan (check with your local library for details). Otherwise, the title of most articles is linked to an abstract in PubMed, which should also contain a way to purchase the full-text article (see the top of the right-hand column over "related citations").
