WELCOME!

As the lead agency for the Network for a Healthy California - Gold Country Region the Health Education Council provides coordination of trainings, technical assistance and nutrition and physical activity education campaigns in the region.

Healthy Eating Active Living Collaborative

Healthy Eating Active Living Collaborative is a collaboration of agencies working toward similar goals in the Gold Country region. The vision of the collaborative is that the Gold Country Region has an informed population that eats healthy foods and is physically active within communities that support healthy lifestyles.

Power Play! Campaign

The Power Play! Campaign helps communities bring the message of eating the recommended number of servings of fruits and vegetables and physical activity to low-income 9 to 11 year old children in six community channels; school classrooms, and cafeterias; community youth organizations, including after school and summer programs; farmers' market, supermarket, restaurant promotions; and media.

African American Campaign

African American  Campaign's mission is to encourage the improvement of health by empowering the African American community through education and advocacy that promotes the benefits of healthy eating and physical activity.

Latino Campaign

Latino Campaign's mission is to empower low-income Latino adults and their families to consume 5 to 9 servings of fruit and vegetables and engage in at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day. The Campaign also works with communities throughout California to create environments where these behaviors are socially supported and accessible.

Worksite Campaign

The Worksite Campaign is a statewide initiative to establish healthy worksite environments for predominately low-income working adults.

Physical Activity Campaign

The key objective of the PA campaign is to integrate physical activity into the Network campaigns and to work with community partners, the media and others to promote physical activity and healthy eating among low-income adults and children across the Gold Country.
