The Network for a Health California - Physical Activity Program is designed to integrate physical activity in all Network-funded nutrition education efforts and programs. The Physical Activity Program promotes physical activity and healthy eating among low-income adults and children across the Gold Country Region and is considered to be an essential component to combating chronic diseases such as heart diseases, cancer, diabetes, obesity, and arthritis across all ages and communities.
The Health Education Council leads the Network for a Healthy California- Gold Country Region Physical Activity Program in 14 counties (Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Mono, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tuolumne, Yolo and Yuba).
