Call for Abstracts
You are cordially invited to submit an abstract to Promising Practices: Achieving Health and Social Equity in Tobacco Control. We are seeking abstracts highlighting best practices, innovative programs and policies, and current research focused on reducing tobacco use prevalence among African American and/or low socioeconomic status* (SES) populations. This Conference aims to bring together public health professionals working from within diverse systems and all dedicated to serving communities disparately impacted by tobacco.
**Abstracts submissions are now closed. Thank you to those who submitted a proposal! We are currently in the review process and will notify everyone by Novemeber 20, 2009 of their status.
This Conference is presented by the Health Education Council's Break
Free Alliance and the National African American Tobacco Education
Network (NAATEN).
*Characteristics
that describe low SES populations include: low-income, those with less
than 12 years of education, the medically underserved, the unemployed,
and the working poor.
