Program Details and Overview
PurpleAir Sensors are small, portable, low-cost devices that measure the concentration of airborne pollutants. These sensors can provide real-time air quality information that is useful when there are no nearby stationary monitors. PurpleAir Sensors can measure particulate matter concentrations, pressure, temperature, and relative humidity. PurpleAir Sensors do not have cameras or microphones and do not collect personal information.
The sensor will be provided and installed for you at no cost!
Eligibility
Recipients must meet the following criteria:
- Have a residential or commercial property within 500-1,000 yards of the Roseville railyard
- Eligible neighborhoods include, but are not limited to, Los Cerritos, Roseville Heights, and Theiles Manor.
- Will be occupying residence or business for at least 1 year.
- Have WiFi access, electricity, and an outdoor outlet
- Sensor must be suspended off the ground (i.e., fence post, etc.)
- Sensor shouldn’t be near any other emission sources (i.e., kitchen hood vent, grill, generator, chimney, fire pit, etc.)
