SYVPC Background

SMYVP members build trust and collaboration with each other in order to better integrate public health, social service and community policing practices. SMYVP also supports SHOP - a structured violence prevention curriculum that supports youth development and is presented at in-school and out-of-school programs.

Together SYVPC members partner to increase youth linkages to local organizations so that youth can better access services and community programs that foster resiliency and afford youth new opportunities to practice self-care, leadership development, community service, and advocacy. The Collective has participation from over 30 organizations including community advocates, law enforcement, healthcare, and education.

HEC serves as the backbone organization for the Sacramento Youth Violence Prevention Collective. The Collective works to prevent youth violence by creating a true web of support for youth in Sacramento by building stronger working relationships among cross-sector organizations.  Since COVID-19, Collective meetings are held virtually.
