West Sacramento Housing
Health Education Council (HEC) partners with affordable housing communities in West Sacramento to provide services to their underserved residents to improve their health, financial well-being, social support, and connection. To meet the needs of these residents, HEC is focusing on increasing the resident's availability and access to community resources, expanding the community's social support and connection, and educating the residents about nutrition, physical exercise, general health, financial literacy, mental health, and other topics. Through these objectives, HEC has implemented several workshops and programs such as an after school program, a monthly community gathering, adult yoga classes, car seat education classes, women's health classes, and other topics.
