The Health Education Council Wellness Hub is a trusted gathering place that connects members of the community to essential services and programs that advance health equity, improve health outcomes, and enhance quality of life. Our Wellness Hub aims to remove barriers and bridge gaps by helping people access vital health and social resources, ensuring that all people can thrive in their community. Peer Support Specialist Training
The Health Education Council (HEC) is a CalMHSA-approved vendor of the Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist training. We are currently accepting applications for members of the Sacramento County Wellness Hub to complete the two week training program (80 hours), which will take place on October 21-25 and November 4-8 from 8:30am-5:00pm.
A peer support specialist is someone who works with individuals who are in recovery to foster connectedness and optimism. The primary role is to interact with clients in an accepting, understanding, and validating way to facilitate their recovery.
